HUNTER BARREL HORSE ASSOCIATION OFFICIAL RULES FOR 2019

AGE GROUPS/EVENTS-

 6yrs & Under

Under 11'S

11 and under 14

14 and under 18

Up and Coming  18 yrs and over to Novice horsers only

3D

Senior Pole Bend

EVENT RULES-

-Juniors can ride as many horses as they wish, but only 1 open horse per event with exception of 6 years & under.

-Juniors can be led to their starting point

-Your age group will be determined by the first day you attend hbha

-Juniors need to provide a birth certificate to prove age if requested by committee.

UP AND COMING

Open to 18yrs and over for novice horsers only not to have won a ladies barrel race or 4 novice barrel races or 4 first divisions at our club. Novice status as at the start of our year.

POLE BEND RULES AS ABHA

We will not be imposing the 5 sec hat rule.

3D RULES-

-3D is to be run over 2 runs not offering the 1 run roll over

-The divisions will be determined by a 1 second split

-You can not place on a knocked drum in the 3d.

-We will go to the 5th digit on the clock.

-The whip rule has changed it is now

2 whips between entry and 1st drum

2 whips between 1st to 2nd drum

2 whips between 2nd to 3rd drum

4 whips on the way home

This also includes with a over and under your hand or reins any contact will be counted as that and you will be disqualified.

If weather is not permitting  the committee will make the decision to make the 3d a 1 run event.

NOVICE HORSE RULES-

-A Novice horse is a horse that has not won a ladies barrel race or 4 novice barrel races or 4 first divisions at our club

Novice status will be determined as at the start of our year

COURSE RULES-

-Course to be permanently marked for the entire number of competitors.

-A full size course to be used if possible.

-Drums must be 44 gallon size and have both ends enclosed.

-Electric timer: If electric time fails to work the handheld timer will be used as the competitors time.

-Once the course is set and drums are in place no contestants are to be in arena unless competing.

GENERAL RULES-

-Dress rules: Members competing must wear suitable long sleeved shirt with a collar, wide brimmed hat, boots and jeans in arena at all times.

-Juniors to wear approved helmet at all times while on horses within the grounds.

-Points are awarded from 1st to 5th in all events.

-.You can ride as many horsers as you like but you will only place with your highest points earned on whatever horse in any division or age group event at the end of year.

-TIE: If a tie happens within an event, the committee will go back on times and they will be determined by consistency

-Rules to be on displayed each month

-Wrong pattern within the course will result in disqualification.

-Contestants may go to either the left or right drum first, but must make 1 left and 2 right turns or 1 right and 2 left turns.

-You must compete at 4days to qualify for finals.

-Meetings: You must be over the age of 18 and members of the club if you wish to vote at a meeting  We have a associate membership which is $10.00 per year.

-Rules on horse control: Horses deemed to be out of control will be at the committee discretion, the committee reserves the right to remove any persons from a particular horse.

-Bad behavior will not be tolerated and can lead to instant disqualification or ban from the association.

-Horses can only be ridden once per event.

HORSEMANSHIP RULES-

-Animal Abuse: Hitting horses around head or excessive use of whip or over and under will result in disqualification to be deemed by judges and committee.

-Riders considered to be using excessive force maybe disqualified at the discretion of the committee.

-All horses attending the event must have access to water at all times, whilst not being ridden.

From now on if you have a problem and cannot make it by 9.00am to put in entries please call 0428505579.This is Tracey's mobile. She will let the office know and add your entries to the time sheets.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL ANYONE ELSE AS YOUR ENTRIES WILL NOT BE TAKEN

IF you turn up late and have not called tracey your entries will no longer be taken you will be turned away.
